In a quiet Irish town, anticipation for the holidays is growing: Christmas trees decorated with colorful lights adorn the town and festive music can be heard everywhere. But it’s not the most wonderful time of the year for everyone. Five different families share their stories about not feeling happy at Christmas, something that’s often not talked about. They’re dealing with money problems, loneliness, excessive eating, or grief. The movie shows how expectations and reality clash, bringing hidden tensions to the surface. It’s a social portrait full of humor and tragedy that goes on a journey to find the true meaning of Christmas.
